Puzzingo Review – Fun Learning App For Kids

puzzingo review

I wanted to do a quick little review about one of the apps I use to keep our little man entertained. Now, don’t get all crazy…. we only use apps for early morning (like too early to get out of bed) entertainment, as a special treat, or as an emergency distraction. We try our best to only let him use apps that have some kind of educational value to it, whether it be an app that reads him a story, encourages hand-eye coordination, or teaches him colors, shapes, numbers… etc.

Puzzingo is an interactive app created by 77SPARX Studio. Its a puzzle game that is visually appealing, educational, promotes hand-eye coordination, and is super fun for the little ones (and the adults) to play. (more…)

Toddler Easter Basket Ideas

Warning: This post contains spoilers regarding the Easter Bunny. If you are an adult that still believes in the Easter Bunny please go seek professional help.

This year is technically Mikey’s second Easter and we wanted to make him an Easter Basket. He obviously doesn’t know the difference yet between an Easter Basket and any other new item we give him, but it is more for us than for him, let’s face it. Most kids get toys and candy stuffed into their baskets but what do you get a toddler who really doesn’t care much what you put in there?

Top 7 Baby Items

First time expecting parents will experience it at one point or another. For my wife and I it happened when we went to register for her baby shower. I am talking about that overwhelming feeling that comes over you when you see all of the baby items that are out there. Even shopping for something as standard as a crib or car seat can be pretty daunting with all of the choices you have. As we walked around Buy Buy Baby there were items I had no clue what they were. From snot suckers to wipe warmers I’m pretty sure that if you find yourself saying “It would be nice if I had …” they probably make it. Below I will attempt to go over the Top 7 Baby Items according to Newb Dad. (more…)

Baby Stuff On The CHEAP: Tips For Using Craigslist

Newb Mom here again. It’s no secret that I am the Queen of Craigslist when it comes to buying baby stuff. Babies grow out of everything so quickly that there is always a plethora of stuff available on Craigslist, and typically people price it to move since they just want it gone. Here is an example of some stuff I have gotten and the prices:

  1. Baby Einstein jumper (music doesn’t work but the lights do). Paid $5 – Retails for $100
  2. Activity Table, perfect condition. Paid $15 – Retails for $50
  3. Graco double stroller, older but in excellent condition. Paid $15 – Retails for $125
  4. Step 2 playhouse, missing 2 rails (not really needed). Paid $10 – Retails for $300

So in all I’ve paid under $50 for $575 in baby gear. That’s a savings of $525. Crazy right? All it takes is time to look, some research, some basic safety, and some cleaning up. (more…)
